Announcing EcoTech Connect Discussion Series
Technical Methodology & Best Practices of Environmental Scientists
EcoTech Connect is a dedicated space for all the UC Berkeley community of researchers of all skill levels to come together and explore the technical best practices shaping environmental science. The primary focus is on reproducible data analysis, cutting-edge methods in environmental research, software engineering, and collaborative programming. By engaging in these discussions, participants will gain insights into the "why" behind these practices, emphasizing the rationale and long-term benefits rather than just the technical steps.
This series is designed for those who are eager to deepen their knowledge and contribute to discussions. Each session lasts 1.5 hours, with the first 45 minutes devoted to introducing a topic and curating relevant materials. The remaining time is dedicated to open discussion, hands-on exercises, and exploring the nuances of real-world applications.
EcoTech Connect will meet biweekly and each session will be led by one or two individuals, with curated materials available for self-learning after the event. A key goal of the series is to promote standardized output across projects, enabling better collaboration and reproducibility in environmental science.
We hope you will join us! Virtual options and treats may be available.
